Match Report Date - 31/08/08 Oppo – Woodford Green (a) Type – 40 Overs Report by Dave Revell On a dull day the penultimate fixture of the season saw many confused Orient players either turn up late or go to the wrong ground. However, those that were there, donned their whites and decided to bat first. Tooth and Mulholland (the only O's players to ever get any runs) got the away side off to a decent start before Tooth skied one and was caught by an armpit. Other batsmen contributed well and batted around Mulholland's 60. At 142-6 Riches and Revell cam together and put on an unbeaten 69 partnership steering the O's to 211 for 6 at close. Excellent tea! Then out to try to beat the darkening clouds and get a result. Good bowling from Martin and Walker quickly skittled the Woodford Green top order, who thought they were playing a 10/10 game. Leading wicket taker Richardson then flexed his muscles by beating up the only 4 year old playing and then cementing his position as leading wicket taker with three further wickets. The O's eventually running out winners to make it a run of 1 defeat in the last 10 games.
