Report by Nick Ross

Following their star appearance on BBC's Crimewatch '140NotOut', LOSCC returned from the dangerous pick pocket suburbs
of Bishop Stortford to the civilised tranquil village of Barkingside to face Oak hill on a miserable Sunday afternoon.
With dark clouds surrounding the area, Heed allowed the opposition to have a bat and handed Auton the ball to open the
bowling. Once again 'Robin Hood' bowled a nice spell giving the batsman '140' things to think about and it didn't take
long before 'The Artful Dodger' made the breakthrough. A lively spell forced one the openers to glove one behind to
Sulosan. With the batsman bizarrely refusing to walk, he trudged off when the finger went up and was heard mumbling 'I
have been robbed' It was reported that an anonymous Catholics player (we will call him Dick Turpin and still assisting
police with enquiries) had sent a tweet to the less than impressed batsman upon his return to the pavilion 'I know how
you feel mate'. Praveen at the other end also bowled a nice spell and picked up a fantastic caught and bowled and when
Auton 'nicked' the off stump it was looking a positive start for the Mighty O's.
The first rain spell forced both teams to take a breather and when they went back onto the field, Oak hill began to get
stuck into the O's bowling…….. Jack Baker-Merry and Sarankan were the unfortunate ones to be smashed for few boundaries
in difficult conditions. Baker Merry (2-69) did finish his spell with a couple of wickets which included an absolute
'dolly' to Mulholland who appeared a little taken back at the speed at which the ball was travelling.
Oak hill were building a nice total so Heed gambled and decided to chuck the ball to Matty (1-23) and Arnie (3-11).
The result paid off as both picked up a couple of decent wickets. Matty had the danger man on 65 caught behind after
having had an absolutely plumb LBW turned down the ball before, whilst Arnie cleaned up the tail meaning Oak hill finished
on a very good score of 214 for 9 wickets.

As the O's trudged off , there was a particularly strange atmosphere in the home dressing room with everyone careful
not to make any eye contact with each other (just in case a crime was about to take place). With the words from 7 days
earlier…. 'He done it, I can sense it' echoing around in the minds of the players, everyone was quick to make sure they
could be identified on the newly installed CCTV and be absolved from threats or intimidation. Arnie was seen discussing
the O's Italian takeover with Beryl……... Sulosan had his head buried in his school books, Dan was seen at the dining table
munching a couple of sarnies…….Even club treasurer Bob Marsh turned up just to check the club accountants & ensure there
was no £140 entries logged in the books!

Following the superb Beryl tea, Anuj and Sarankan opened and the O's had put 18 on the board when Sarankan was clean
bowled. Matty joined Anuj at the crease and survived the rest of the over before both umpires holding umbrellas decided
enough was enough and the match was abandoned.

All returned to the bar to watch the Holland v Mexico game which incidentally had 'expert' analysis by the oppo skipper
much to Liam's enjoyment.

Let's hope the sun is out for the ICCC94 challenge next Sunday (Remember it's a 13:00 start boys!)
Also no stats will be added to players stats as 20 overs of the second innings was not completed.
