Match Report Date 28/08/16 Oppo South Fambridge(a) Type 40 Overs Report by Liam Mulholland After 4567 texts, 2345 phone calls and 48 one to ones, remarkably O's mustered up a full team for the trip to South Fambridge. By the second over skipper Mulholland wondered if it was worth the hassle as we are now on the third match ball after Revell & Hiscock were pumped into oblivion by Verrinder who made Chris Gayle look like a blocker. At this rate the O's would be bowling about 3 overs an hour and god knows when the game would finish. With helicopters, search lights, sniffer dogs desperately trying to track the lost balls the game continued. Revell pulled a rabbit out of the hat trapping smash boy LBW for 25, Revell got another then Hiscock bagged a couple all aided by some good catching in the deep. Suddenly from facing a possible 750 run chase half the team were gone for 50, the hosts railed a little but good bowling all round eventually dismissed the hosts for 164 in the 38th over, Shah top of the bowling again with a tidy 2-24. In reply Mistry and the edgemeister getting the team off to a flyer adding 72 for the first wicket before Mistry went for a rapid 41, O's had a slight wobble finding themselves 81-4 but a cameo from Riches hitting five fours in a quick fire 29, left O's at 139-5 and in sight of victory, skipper Mulholland joined Shah at the crease and hit the winning runs in the 34th over as O's eased to victory, Shah finishing not out on 24. Last game at Cheshunt next week.
