Type – 40 Overs
Report by Liam Mulholland.

O's bounced back to winning ways with a 59 run win at Potter Street & Church Langley. After heavy overnight rain the O's
were inserted on a dampish track which turned into a swing/seam bowlers paradise. Big shock in the first over when
Mulholland, after a sequence of 100 not out, 75 not out, 50 & 105 not out, was dismissed for a paltry single.
Evans & James rode their luck with Tibster using a few of his 9 lives, but they fought hard to take the score to 25
before James was bowled by Jackson with a beauty. James said the last delivery he faced like that was v Old Farts 4ths
just prior to Douglas Jardines boys going out to the "Bodyline series". At one stage 100 looked a good score but well
marshalled by Parkes with a handy 21 Not out and a speedy 15 from bully boy Wicks, the O's managed a competitive 136,
our good friend extras joint top score with 27 with Evans. The O's roared into the hosts with our friendly gangster
from one end and the skipper Richardson from the other. Richardson bowling 6 of his tightest overs for many a day, the
canny skipper kept 2 overs up his sleeve after seeing 10 & 11 dog, laid down in their cots for their early evening kip.
Parkes and Walker continued the good work with Walker being coached every step of his spell by the "Butcher of
Leytonstone" who by know was having a huge sugar rush after his 21 donuts at tea. With the run rate climbing to 6 an
over it was time for Hillier to come on and get that run rate down. He duly obliged getting tanked for 13 in 1 over,
Richardson had some issues with his attack, the Krays nemesis from the East End was suffering with a pulled fetlock
plus he was frothing at the mouth, which to be frank was quite a sorry sight for the man who once ruled East London
with an iron fist. The skipper looked to turn to Mulholland but incredibly the hardest man in Bethnal Green turned
coppers nark and informed the skipper of Mulholland's spell from last Sunday which the club have a huge insurance case
on their hands after his bowling was sent rocketing into the nearby farm and bowling club taking out 3 cattle, 15 slates,
and 2 80 year old members of the bowls club. With Wicks giggling like a child as he told the skipper the story,
Richardson took "Bertie Smalls" advice and after checking the nearest building was less than 2 miles from the ground
thought it in the public interest to keep Mulholland out of the attack. With 9 men on the boundary Hillier promptly
bowled his man next over, panic over. Richardson now moved quickly to get himself back into the attack as our man
from L`Oreal looked to claim the 2 wickets needed to bag 300 for the club. With the 10 & 11 having their final rusks
before padding up the skipper was confident he could add these boys to his other 282 victims under 8 years of age.
Sadly Hillier spoilt the fun nailing the pair in successive balls. Special mention to James Walker with a best return
of 4-21 plus a handy 7 Not Out in a week when his fledgling career as a ticket tout crashed around him as he has
750 Jacko tickets burning a hole in his pocket plus some very angry punters who are looking for their money back.
