Match Report Date 28/04/13 Oppo – ICCC (a) Type – 40 Overs Report by S.Kimo. The O’s started the seasonin usual arctic conditions at ice station Zebra aka Barkingside. Put into bat, the boys were away in fine style when the old boy Mulholland square drove the first ball of the season for 4. Together with Marsh they put on 48 for the 1st wicket before Mulholland skied a catch off young Louis Morgan who quickly followed up with the wicket of Tooth to finish with a tidy return of 2-37, not bad for a lad who was cry boy when he turned up and said his leg was playing up. Riches and Marsh had a handy partnership of 35 before Riches was cleaned up by a good one from Benjamin. Their partnership was soured slightly by the screaming from the boundary edge of "Go baby go" as Marsh slammed numerous boundaries. The noise finally subsided when Riches shouted at his wife Tina "For Gods sake woman get your eyes checked, I am your husband and that is Bob hitting the runs". Heed then joined in to hit a quick fir 29 in a rapid stand of 89 in 10 overs as the O's closed on 192-3 a very impressive score with Marsh unbeaten on 107 and his first ton for the club, a very fine knock indeed. In reply the Catholics were soon in trouble at 38-3 but Zaman and Gopalasamy steadied things and the weather getting a tad nippy, the experienced Graham, fresh from drinking 29 pints of lizards piss aka shite bottle of bitter the previous evening grabbed the ball and said "I'll finish this game in no time" True to his word he was as he bowled 2 overs of absolute shite full tosses, half trackers, you got the idea, total pony. The only saving grace, Hamberger, fresh from his eye surgery could now spot the ball even when it landed just outside Gants Hill tube. Graham took his sweater and rushed for the bar for his next bucket of slop to chuck down his neck. The 2 batters hammered the bowlers into oblivion as Zaman finished unbeaten on 95 and big man Gopalasamy unbeaten on 57. The game done and dusted with 8 overs to spare. With this pop gun attack the O's are in for a long season but they are brave and true as they attempt to overturn the Catholics next weekend.
