On a hot humid afternoon O’s entertained Woodham Mortimer, O’s rang the changes once again with Marvel 
playing a veterans 5 a side football tournament for players who have played football in Europe and 
South America, our man ticks all boxes after his successful spells at Anderlecht and Boca Juniors. 
Put in the field O’s expected a long afternoon the field but were giving hope when Akhtar and Richardson 
had both openers caught. Sadly this brought together Smith and Shipton who battered the O’s to all parts. 
Local residents were using the Hillier app for the very first time, residents get notifications on their 
smart phones when he comes on to bowl. The advice is of course to stay indoors until his spell is completed, 
after he has been thrashed for his first 6 the app will tell you how far it has gone and where it is safe, 
on Sunday the ball was unfortunately landing in Coventry. The two batsman eventually retired after both 
reached their tons, a torrid afternoon in sweltering conditions. Woodham eventually closed on a monumental 
244-4. Richardson and Akhtar both coming away with very tidy figures of 1-22. Meanwhile the club has had to 
call in a qualified accountant to try and work Hillier’s figures out. In reply O’s fought back with a 106 
opening stand between Edgemeister and Krish Iyer, no edgy today, as he launched 2 massive sixes straight 
down the ground. Iyer went for a very aggressive 60 while boommeister followed just after for a season best 
of 46. With the light getting worse by the second and thunder and lightning close by the O’s sadly folded, 
bowled out for 170. An entertaining game with the batters having all the fun. Local residents delighted O’s 
are away next Sunday at Mayfield but fully away Palmers Green is well within reach once Hillier lobs up his 
pies.
