Report by Liam Mulholland

O's arrived nice & early for their first visit to Old Minchendenians, the batting greatly
strengthened but the bowling still smelling of Lizards wee. Put in the field, skipper
Mulholland was confident his batting unit would chase down any score today. Graham &
Hillier opened the bowling with Graham quickly picking up 2 wickets, his second celebrated
in glorious style as he produced a display of gymnastics that Olympians would be proud of,
he raced from the corner of the square with a handstand forward roll growing in a nifty
hitch kick, the finale a back handspring landing on his padded knees with his arms stretched
wider than the angel of the north. A standing ovation followed with the scorer raising a
well merited 9. From the other end Hillier had a slightly different approach as his gently
floaters were disappearing into outer space. Graham after his many coaching sessions at Lords
gave him excellent advice 'Just pitch the c.... son', meanwhile fielders were issued with
google earth apps & binoculars as they scattered to various postcodes, Russian astronauts
looking down from a space station could see the odd delivery float by. Another full bunger
was cracked furiously to mid wicket like a shell, the sound of it smashing into Marsh's paws
could be heard at Barkingside, the force of the blow knocked him backwards through the stinging
nettles, took out 2 panels of fencing, slide through a paddling pool eventually coming to
halt knocking over bottles of prosecco & wine & the family barbecue that was under way.
Remarkably the batsman walked blaming himself failing to that shite. Excellent spells from
Humphrey & Zaman slowed the run rate, with Reese getting a hat trick of excellent catches in
the deep, his second simply outstanding as he pouched it running backwards and dropping over
his shoulder. Slight confusion with the score board when competitive Riches challenging the
scorers ability, his comments ranged from, 'Did you go to school', Will get Carol Voderman
to help you', 'I played for Sporting Gijón you know', 'You want some', eventually the hosts
finished on 176-6, Graham a tidy 2-30, under par as 200 was on the cards after 20 overs.
In reply Reece stroked a delightful 40 before he was bowled through sheer boredom. He set
the game up nicely as Humphrey & Zaman made useful contributions as Marsh held one end with
a unbeaten 31, O's coasting to a 5 wicket victory. A nice beer in the bar slightly disturbed
by the Minkster receiving various calls from his lady followers, the home team offered us
some food to mop up on the bar area but the Minkster thought he meant the kitchen & he
returned with 5 kilos of ham that he promptly demolished in a personal best of 8 mins 43
seconds, growing lad the Minkster. Home to Royal Sovereign which will be interesting next weekend.
