Match Report Date - 24/08/08 Oppo – Independents (h) Type – 40 Overs Report by Simon Heed In a match containing a total of no less than 17 LOSCC players, the teams were equally divided to provide a pretty decent match and everyone got a game, even Tom Watkins who managed to be the first opponent to get out twice in the same innings, first ball to the same bowler! Big Bad Bob James found the spirit levelled flat track to his liking and made a solid half century with Liam Mullholland contributing another large chunk by way of his 78. Some cameo contributions later in the innings from Martin Riches and Alan Wicks brought the innings total to a reasonable 175. Mention has to go to wicket-keeper Coops, 38.4 overs and no byes. Watch our Prior and Ambrose!! In reply, Independents (aka LOSCC rejects for the day) struggled with the very tidy bowling of Walker and Wicks, both taking three wickets each, with Wicks destroying the powerful middle order. Andy Humphrey with 46, and a couple of good knocks from Perera and Fella kept the interest up, but the tail wagged like a Jack Russell with a ferret in its mouth, promptly collapsing to 135 all out. A very enjoyable match played in good spirits. Another win for the O’s. Also a special thanks to those that represented Independents, especially Craig who took four wickets that will be lost in the midst of time.
