Type 30 Overs
Report by Liam Mulholland

The last home game of the season arrived with a heavy downpour just before start time, with the
opposition already looking to shoot off, actually some did, what's that about? Skipper Heed had
to explain the incredible drying qualities of the QE2 field to a bemused away team, as expected
the ground became playable and a 30 over match got under way with both teams back to eleven players.
O's amassed a very good 198-2 with Mo Zaman completing a well deserved 100 in the final over having
gone so close all season, a delighted Mo dropped to his knees and kissed the hallowed turf,
unfortunately he arose with his whites covered in dog shit, broken glass and a syringe sticking out
of his thigh, just raise your bat son, old school but does the job. Good support from Hiscock 33,
Rana 28 and Riches 28 not out all helping Mo to his ton. In reply Old Sectonians were always going
to struggle to chase the total down and were bowled out for 133 with Mulholland having yet another
golden spell with the ball picking up 5 wickets for just 17 runs. A comfortable 65 run victory to
finish the home campaign, another new fixture at South Fambridge to come next week.
