Oppo – Spartan (h)
Type – 40 Overs
Report by Liam Mulholland.

The O`s crushed old rivals Spartan by 63 runs on a glorious day for English cricket as the mighty Aussies were humbled
at the Oval. Batting first the O`s lost opener James early again who after surviving one dropped catch thought his luck
was turning but not yet young Bob as he nailed a cut to point and was well held by Imran for 4. Enter the Terminator and
he looked set for a return to form but not today Termo as he was yorked by Hader for 11. Meanwhile at the other end
Ramanuja was ticking over nicely after surviving a huge shout for LBW which he and `Finger of fate Redman` would probably
have given out. O`s then lost Allen for 4 leaving them rocking at 45-3 in the 10th over but enter Tousent who added a fine
43 in a stand of 124 with Ramanuja in 21 overs which proved to be the match winning partnership. Ramanuja eventually going
for a career best 86 which will be the stepping stone to many more big scores once he commits to playing more cricket in
England in 2010 after this excellent knock it will be a waste of talent if he decides to return to India next year.
Gangster Wicks fresh from having his collar felt by the old bill for the gems raid in the West End, bludgeoned a quick
20 before the O`s scrambled their way to a score of 220 all out, losing a flurry of wickets at the death including
`The Voice` who was run out in ridiculous style by our returning skipper from yet another L`Oreal jolly in Monte Carlo.
In reply Spartan were never in the hunt, the biggest worry was the gargantuan Wicks who pulled up sharply and needs an
urgent appointment back at the vets. Skipper Richardson is no fool and quickly got into the action bowling another tight
spell bamboozling the batters with his dribblers, dobbers, donkey drops, doddle bugs, dolly drops and general dollop
collecting a return of 4-11 in his 8 overs. The innings meandering to a close with the last man going in the last over of
the match Spartan crumbling to 157 all out. Another fine day for our old friend extras who had a final score of 76 to his
name over the 2 innings. Woodford Green up next as skipper Richardson shuffles his squad of 158 around.
