Match Report Date - 22/06/08 Oppo – Hockerill (a) Type – Timed Game Report by Dave Revell The O's recent form nearly continued in a close fought match at Hockerill. The home side batting first, they got off to a flying start and were soon 55-0 off 7 overs, with bowling a little tricky on an extremely windy day and a good hard pitch. At 82-0 from 12 overs, it was time for a change, with Revell replacing Tooth. A wicket in his first over started to turn the game and with Hillier coming on the other end, the 2 bowkled well in tandem to tighten the scoring up. Hillier bowling 11 overs and Revell 15 on the trott. The latter ending with 4 wickets. The O's reply started brightly, with James going well, before being caught off the shoulder of his bat. (And telling the umpire he never played a shot at a 4 ball!). Tooth came in an produced some excellent batting getting to 74 before being bowled and the O's collapse was on. It was down to Revell & Mulholland to attempt to get them home when Revell came to the wicket with the score on 200-9. Both players pushed the score along and with 4 needed off the last over, Revell took a single and Mulholland received a corking yorker which upended the stumps and the O's lost by 2 runs. By the way, Revell has such a stiff shoulder today - Ouch!
