On a not so hot day at Barkingside, LOSCC came up against South Loughton for a 40 Overs Match.

Skipper Simon Heed won the toss and elected to bat first and opened with Bob Marsh (54 not out) 
and Salman Rana (10) it was looking ok until Rana was bowled then quick wickets saw Danny and 
Matt out for a duck. Chigs came in at 5 hit a couple of good strokes until he was caught from a 
good catch. Riches came in at 6 and were looking like it was going to be a good partnership with 
Marsh but not until he was run out for 8. Captain Heed was in at 7 hit a good 4 till he was caught 
for 12. Mulholland was in at 8 and got a partnership of 38 with Bob Marsh and finished 15 not out 
even though it took him 12 balls to get off the mark.

After an Andrew Humphrey tea for the first time (lovely tea Andy expect the dry cakes) LOSCC went 
out to field. Chigs (6-0-17-1) and Karen Shah (8-1-13-2) Both Bowled great line and picked up good 
wickets on the way. After the opener’s spell Rana (8-0-15-0) and Chintan Shah (7-0-28-0) where both 
\unlucky not to get wickets but bowled great line and length. After Shah and Rana’s 7 and 8 Captain 
Heed brought on young Liam Mulholland (6-0-25-2) and Oliver Marsh (5-0-16-4) to the attack both 
bowled great line. On Marsh’s 3rd over he picked up 3 wickets and one being someone who could have 
brought South Loughton over the line to win it.

Next Week is Mayfield CC away so let’s look forward to that match.
