Match Report Date 19/08/12 Oppo – Theydon Bois (a) Type – 40 Overs Report by Katcheez vin matchees. The day started in glorious sunshine on the morning of the game but a quick 30 minutes downpour an hour before the game started had some players scratching their head as to whether to turn up or not. However most of the O's players found their way to the ground on time, with the only exception being Harry Potter who found that his broomstick was temperamental in wet conditions, but managed to turn up 5 overs into the game after Ron Weasley came to the rescue in his dad's magic car. With a weakened O's batting line up, the 2 captains agreed to let the hosts bat first to make a game of it. What wasn't expected was a load of old pony and trap bowling from the visitors. It took 4 overs before the opening pair settled down but then bowled ok. New boy Sri came on first changed and bowled an excellent line 14 foot outside off stump. Again once he had bowled his 8 over spell in one single over, he settled down. A few wickets somehow managed to fall but this only brought the best player in the area in to bat and he made batting look a different class. He did give one chance on 16 when he was dropped in the deep by Richardson who had just come back from a weeks training with the 3rd Parachute regiment in Berlin and it showed when he jumped for the catch that was nearer his knees than it was the head, counted 1, 1000, 2, 1000 then rolled on the ground and got up to look where his parachute was. Mind you, it wasn't an expensive drop as Bullivant only made another 88 runs after that before he was bowled by the experience of Mulholland, who had steam coming out of his ears and eyes bulging like a Russian shotputter on Steroids at the O's bowling performance. But he managed to take 4 Theydon wickets before trundling off to take the obligatory urine test. After tea, new boy Sri and Tooth opened the batting and disaster struck when Tooth looking for a single was sent back by Sri when an easy single was there for the taking, with both batsmen heading back to the same end it was decided which one of the 2 were run out when Sri used a turn of speed Yohan Blake could do with next time he takes on Usain Bolt and beat Tooth to the crease in a photo finish. Ranger fell next and lost a lot of the O's players a lot of cash because he actually scored a run. Next to go was Sri and then Hiscock who edged behind but stood there saying it came off of his shoelace. But hot spot showed an edge bigger than the Grand Canyon. Mulholland after passing the urine test then put on a 39 run partnership with skipper Revell before Mulholland was given out LBW by Harry Potter even though the ball was not even hitting the stumps, but he was forgiven when it was discovered he wasn't even watching because Lord Voldermort was invading his mind at that time. Revell was then out completely kippered by Bully which enabled the Auton bro's to come to the wicket and show everyone exatly what a bat is for, none of this mamby pamby single stuff, both of them blasting 6's all over the park and leaving the O's players gobsmacked considering big bad Dan said he can bat at 11 only..cough cough yeah right, think someone was telling a few porky's there! Both played excellently putting on an unbeaten 68 for the 7th wicket with Harry ending 35 Not out and Dan 25 Not out, although big Dan did need a tank of oxygen at the close.
