Match Report Date 18/05/14 Oppo – Woodford Green (h) Type – 40 Overs Report by Frank Furter The O's were looking to bounce back after their first defeat of the season and they did it fine style with an 80 run victory over Woodford Green at home. With the O's winning the toss and electing to bat, it was Eddie Tooth yet again scoring the runs as he notched up a superb 86 from a score of 227 with also notable contributions by Barot (46) & Benjamin (38) A magnificent Tina tea filled the stomachs of the 22 'cricketers' as the O's went out to field on a warm summers afternoon. Dan Auton opened the bowling with Neal Patel and both bowlers did a good job keeping the pressure on the openers from the start. It was a strange innings from the visitors who never really chased the total and appeared to be quite happy just ticking the board over. Fortunately the mean attack of the O's smelt the 9000 left over hot-dogs and were in no mood to muck about. Revell got the opener and 3 with good catches from Martin behind the stumps and Matty at cover. This was followed by a devastating spell by the Sri Lankan Volcano Arnie Kumar who picked up three quick wickets for just 10 runs. Mulholland grabbed an LBW and then Auton returned to finish off the tail with nice figures of 3-34. A great response by the O's and solid win setting themselves up nicely for the mid-season break for the big play off final with those Yorkie boys Rovrum to come next Sunday…………...What could wrong! O's 2-0 up and blow it on pens???????? No chance!
