Match Report Date 17/05/15 Oppo Woodford Green (h) Type 40 Overs Report by Liam Mulholland After 2 thumping wins availability for the game suddenly dropped off in a bad way. Only Captain Marsh, the legend that is Al Wicks and Peter Pan Mulholland were the only regulars in the starting 11. Ed Tooth would have played but unfortunately suffered a severe bout of RSI having made approximately 12,345 texts and phone calls trying to put out a dream team for the game. Huge thanks to Ian Morgan and Khalid Rana who had their arms twisted to take part, thanks guys. Not good signs for the season but we will see. Back to the game, on a usual sporting Barkingside wicket runs were hard to come by and wickets fell regularly but O’s mustered a very useful 181-8 off their 40 overs, Nav Ali held the innings together with an excellent 57 not out, useful support from Mulholland 22 gave O’s a very handy score to defend. 2 early wickets from the rejuvenated Wicks now back playing league cricket on Saturdays and super fit after walking 7,688 miles and drinking one bottle of Dorada on his winter jaunt to Lanzarote. Green found it hard going in reply and were finished off by Mulholland who mopped up with a surprising 4-21, leaving the real bowlers spewing in disbelief, Surendar picking up a wonder catch in the gully for the old boy , Green eventually dismissed for 97, another big win for the O’s by 84 runs. Next up South Loughton at home, let’s hope availability picks up.
