Match Report Date 16/08/15 Oppo Theydon Bois (a) Type 40 Overs Report by Liam Mulholland After the hammering of last weekend, skipper Heed worked tirelessly all work to ensure a full team for the trip to Theydon Bois, the outcome was a power house batting line up but typical of the season only 2 batsman were required as Zaman & Riches put on a marvellous partnership of 215 after the O's decided to bat on what is always a good batting track. Riches the only wicket to fall for a fine 86, Zaman continued his fine run of form but sadly just short of that elusive hundred finishing unbeaten on 91, the innings closing on 234-1, a good score but with the Theydon legend Rob Bullivant in the home teams ranks maybe not enough. Theydon started steadily and once Bullivant reached the crease the run rate moved rapidly forward as he gave another masterclass in batting, Mulholland was brought into the attack and claimed the vital wicket of the great man as he was well caught at long on by Naylor for 83 as he attempted another maximum. That goes for 6 and a home win would have been on the cards, Mulholland finished with 4-27 another good spell from the old timer & he completed a good day in the field by catching the last wicket off Naylor at long off to seal victory for the O's by 16 runs with 11 balls remaining, yet another entertaining game as the O's look forward to their final home game of the season against Old Sectonians next week.
