Oppo – Hainult & Clayhall (a)
Type – 40 Overs
Report by Dave Revell

H&C won the toss on a gloriously sunny day and the O's fielders faces dropped as soon as the skipper said "Sorry lads!"
The prospect of fielding for 40 overs was made a little easier by a slight breeze.
Tooth opened the bowling for the O's and had a wicket in his 3rd over helping reduce Hainult & Clayhall to 7-1 off 7 overs.
This brought M Shinn to the wicket and he was brilliantly dropped by the skipper on 0, then by half of the team on plenty
of other scores. He was finally bowled at the 106th attempt by the brilliant Tooth, who decided the fielders are so crap
that the only option was to hit the stumps. The sight of Shinn departing prompted Skipper Richardson to bowl his 8 overs for 33
safely knowing he won't be tonked like the other bowlers.
Tooth managed to bowl 6 of his overs for 4 runs and 2 wickets and the skipper decided to keep the other 2 up his sleeve just in case,
but as the comment of one player stated "up his sleeve? more like boxed away and stored in the loft"
Hainult & Clayhall eventually finished their 40 overs on 202 for 7.
The O's reply started brightly, scoring at 5 an over for the opening 11 overs, but also losing 3 wickets in the process
with some good bowling from J Bird.
However, a solid partnership from Tooth and opener James pushed the O's to past the 100 mark until Tooth was caught attempting a
straight 6. A solid 68 from James and runs from Mulholland and Parked pushed the O's to within 12 of the total, but the overs
ran out with the O's finishing on 190-6.
Champagne moment, skipper Richardson's quote: "This is the best balanced team we have had in ages, 4 batsman, 3 all-rounders
a good wicket keeper who can bat at 8, and then 3 C*@!£s at 9, 10 and 11." - Classic!
