Following the success of last week's performance, the O’s travelled to Galleywood in search of sinking the ship.

The return of skipper Ian Richardson came with the decision to put Galleywood into bat. Pratham Bhatia was given the new ball, notably without his 
signature shades. It seemed Prat’s was paying homage to the anti-aircraft guns stationed on Galleywood Common during WWII, struggling to land a ball on 
the wicket as he served up full toss after full toss.

Galleywood raced to 90-odd within 10 overs; it was looking like the biggest beating since the Labour Party's performance last Thursday. Up stepped Ollie 
Buck, who served up a lovely full toss first ball that was hit straight down the throat of Paul Elby. Ollie dreaming of completing such a fete.

The O’s had a strong middle period, with Clapton and Buck picking up two more wickets, supported by tight spin bowling from young debutant Freddie Meaden. 
The final 10 overs brought some magic from Matt Hiscock, who picked up four wickets in quick succession, delivering a performance Arteta could only dream 
of. It should have been a five-for, but “poppadom wrists” Ollie Buck dropped yet another catch. It was reported from inside the dressing room that Buck 
would “buy a jug for everyone” when that day finally arrives.

Skipper Richardson also picked up a couple, including the young Daniel Panayiotides who must have been about 12, who had been frustrating the O’s for hours.

Galleywood finished 228-9 off their 40 overs, a great comeback from the O’s, who had been expecting to chase 250 after how the first 10 overs panned out.

Going into bat in good spirits, the O’s had a disastrous start, with poor Sandeep chopping on second ball for a duck. The next 10 overs can only be 
described as a lesson in batting, with Andy Hudson and the skipper both playing lovely innings and retiring in quick succession.

Paul Elby was unfortunate to get one that turned and bounced, edging to first slip. A classy 50 from Matt put the O’s on course for victory. Meaden and 
Clapton both posted double-digit scores before getting out in identical fashion to mid-on.

Prat’s and Buck came in to bat needing 10 runs to win. Making up for his earlier bowling, Prat’s hit the winning runs, finishing on 13 not out.
A great comeback win for the O’s. 

On to Woodham Mortimer next week, where we’ll be hoping for a better time than a certain football club's ownership.
