Report by Dave Revell.

The O's batted first in their first timed game of the season.
Mulholland and Evans opening the batting due to the usual opener James turning up 2 minutes before kick-off.
Steady progress was made by the 2 overall top run scorers for the club, making a 40 plus partnership before Mulholland was
caught behind for 15 and Evans eventually falling for 27. New boy, Joy was dismissed for 0 and headteacher James leaving
(eventually) for the same score, although it did take 3 other players to run on and drag him off the square!
With the score now sitting at 72-4 and the H&C bowlers licking their lips at the prospect of skittling the O's out for
less than 150,Tooth and Marsh set about re-building a good score. This they did excellently and managed to put on a
partnership in excess of 160. Both, however, making blatant jug avoidances, with Tooth chipping an easy catch to
mid-wicket on 99 and Marsh letting the ball hit his stumps while on 48! The O's skipper then declared on 227-6.
In reply, the H&C openers started steadily, before East end lad, Wicks skittled a couple out with his LBW shouts
(more through fear than acurate bowling). A good knock from skipper, D Oliver, who made 66 put up some resistance before
some excellent fielding from Walker ran him out. But the O's could not finish the H&C lower order batsman off and the
game ended in a draw.
