Match Report Date - 09/08/07 Oppo – Woodgreen (a) Type – 40 Overs Report by Liam Mulholland The O`s made a mockery of the form book again as they finished the tour with yet another win to complete their most successful tour ever. On a beautiful day Tibby and Ironside opened the batting and were soon in trouble when the Chief was bowled by Jason Naish. Crasho then joined the Tibster in a very good stand when Tibby after a scratchy start was purring along when with his sights set on a jug of cream for 50 was dismissed for 42. Junior Mulholland kept the score ticking over with Tooth playing some crashing drives before he went for a handy 30. Skipper Taff Humphrey suffered a shocking blow to his box which clearly upset our man from the valleys as he was bowled by the sprightly 69 year old White, with 2 balls left of the innings Tooth at the non strikers end the entrance of Randall was not the best sight for Eddie having shared at the last count 47 run outs together. Off the 5th ball but after a brief Mexican stand off Crasho made his ground, with the field all round the bat we feared the worse with just a single needed for the magic 3 figures but Crasho scrambled home for a well earned ton. The O`s were always in control of the Woodgreen chase apart from a brief period when the skippers field settings went off the radar enabling Naish to hammer 36 through an unguarded cow corner area but he had Tooth and Mulholland up his sleeve for the final few overs and they did the job for Taffy with Mulholland cleaning up the tail and in the process closing in on Meeko`s all time wicket taking record. The O`s victors by 13 runs Champagne moment-the loud cheers that went up from the Woodgreen lads when Hillier left the pub after entertaining them with his wit and repartee for two hours.
