Match Report Date - 09/05/21 Oppo – Woodford Green (a) Type – 35 Overs Report by Liam Mulholland At last some warmth from the sun for the O's fixture at Woodford Green, Captain Marvel was patiently awaiting his troops looking like he just stepped off the 18th green at St Andrews in a very dapper plus fours trousers. When you have played for West Ham United, Standard Liege, Estudiantes,Sparta Rotterdam, Sporting Gijon,Udinese,Boavista he can wear what he likes. Trousers seem to be the theme of the day as that record breaking bowler phoned the skipper to advise him he was without whites and would have to find a shop, on finding one open Ritzy then haggled over the price wanting a discount due to his record breaking wicket talley, the shop assistant wanted some proof and of course he was presented with various stats, videos, match balls, on seeing his economy rate he advised Ritzy you are lucky not to be charged extra! O's took the field with 10 and the first ball from Mayuran went straight out of his hand to gully which was worrying, he picked up a smart caught and bowled but the rest was utter pony. O's were flogged constantly to the boundary only Amos 2-33 coming away with anything respectable, Ritzy arrived and his delicious slow full tosses were pumped to the leg side boundary one whistling way too close to small boys head on the boundary edge, the lad learnt a very early life lesson, never leave home if O's are bowling in your postcode.Green amassed 246-5 off 35 overs with S.Umro 108 not out and S.Martin 41 enjoying the friendly deliveries. In reply edgemeister and Bala got off to cracking start, Edgy sadly used the edge too many times as he had to change bat 3 times before falling for 39, in his first Sunday game since 2018 old boy Mulholland stuffed the innings up with a painful 20, luckily Bala was keeping the scoreboard respectable with some handsome driving on his way to a maiden century, eventually falling for 103, Marvel with some lusty blows hit a quick fire 25 as O's finished 27 short. The O's deliveries that smashed into the trees causing various damage Danny used all the broken wood to make some personalised beer coasters during the second innings, nice touch Danny. Woodham Mortimer the next fixture on the 23rd
