Match Report Date - 08/07/07 Oppo – Old Easthamians (h) Type – 40 Overs Report by Dave Revell A very strong Old Easthamians turned up at South Woodford for the first cricket game played for a few weeks. LOSCC fielded first and it was pretty obvious from the start it was going to be a long day, when batsman arrived at the crease wearing Hornchurch cricket colours. 40 overs late, the score was 271-6 and beyond the O's. Not much to mention on the fielding side other than some excellent fielding by James Walker. The O's needing 6.8 from the outset, sent in their 2 best openers Bob and Glenn. They quickly set about the bowling and raced the O's score along to 10 for no wicket from 8 Overs! This left the rest of the side to now chase 8.2 per over. Thanks Lads! The only innings worth mentioning was Mike Randall who made 47, with only 2 others making double figures. Bob has decided from this game forward a "Champagne moment" will be introduced and voted for by the team. This week's winner was Dave Revell for his exquisite square cut for 4 to get off the mark. We also have a quote of the day from Steve Hiller, which also wins him the O's Man of the match award. "I wasn't unhappy with my bowling, I was unhappy with what happened to it!"
