Match Report Date 07/08/13 Oppo – Godshill (a) Type – 40 overs Report by Ben Der Session After another monster night on the sauce the O's rocked up at Godshill full of bluster ready for their 2nd win of the week, confidence was misplaced as that bastion of Godshill Alan Cousins had put together a useful Home line up. Private Ryan fresh from meeting up with his lady friends from the Iron curtain stated in fine style rocketing bullet drives to the boundary but similar to his meeting with his fillies earlier this morning it was over too quickly as he was dismissed in the second over when we all wanted more. 2 more quick wickets had the O's in deep trouble but a great partnership from Thiru (40) and the well rested Ward dragged the O's back into the match. Ward continued his fine batting from the previous day bringing up his hundred in the final over to go to tea unbeaten on a stunning 103. O's finishing on a useful 187-6 off 35 overs. Off the pitch the tour was taking it's toll as Ian Morgan stomped around the delights of the forest with a very fine impression of Captain Caveman. For the first time our resident tea lady Daisy was on supervision duty only this year but she was still sharp enough to send Ajay packing as he tried to sneak his 18th plate of food in. Terrific batting all the way down the order saw Godshill home by 5 wickets as skipper Marsh was let down by some pretty sloppy fielding from our younger generation. Off to the Fighting Cocks to find a winning game plan for Woodgreen tomorrow.
