Report vs Cheshunt

Match Report

Oppo Cheshunt(a)
Type 40 Overs
Report by Liam Mulholland

The last game of the season arrived with the usual 128 people available, a strong team was
selected and boy they came good. Ryan Naylor scored a sensational 138 not out including
21 fours, the driving, cutting in particular sheer class with a touch of brutality he shared
an unbeaten stand of 147 with Marvel who finished on a not too shabby 73n.o, the guys falling
just 2 short of the 4th wicket club record that has stood for 20 years. The bowlers were
flogged to all parts as O's amassed a gargantuan 286-3, game over surely. After teagate from
last year the guys were pleasantly surprised to see something on the table this year. in reply
skipper Bob Marsh went for youth and experience as old boy Mulholland operated from one end and
young Ollie Marsh from the other, Marsh finishing the season with another tidy spell and the
wicket of former player Gary Watkins who has blocked out and ruined many a game for the O's.
Stephenson batted superbly and was cruelly denied a century being well caught on the boundary
by Mistry off Zaman for a classy 98. Cheshunt batted all the way down and gave the O's a good
run for their money eventually finishing on a brave 257-9. Zaman 2-18 the best of the bowlers.
Another fine win to finish the season.
