Report by Liam Mulholland.

The O's got off to the worst possible start when Vince Mulholland pulled out on the morning of the match struck down
by a mixture of swine flu, booze flu and the black death. Andy Humphrey rushed into the side slightly disappointed as he
had a monster boozing day lined up with the Booze Brothers of Cowell & Marsh. On a damp and sticky day the O's were put
in on yet another green top. Evans & L.Mulholland put down the foundations to a decent score, Mulholland taking a
horrendous blow to the box which even made the Booze Brothers look up from their pints, good batting all the way down
had the O's finishing on a good score of 197-5 with Tooth top score with another aggressive 38, Ramanuja unbeaten on 30
with what could be a very handy couple of 6`s in the last over. Wellow with yet another strong line up with 3 lads from
the Hampshire U19, 17, 15 sides felt confident of knocking the runs off as the players tucked into a marvelous spread at
tea as the drizzle set in. After a slightly delayed resumption, the Wellow openers started strongly putting on 44 for the
first wicket before old faithful, the monster from Bethnal Green struck who was still coming to terms with the fact there
is no Pie & Mash shops in the New Forest. Good spells from Ramanuja and Tooth kept the score in check with some very keen
outfielding considering the conditions, then an inspired bowling change by skipper Richardson bringing the flight and
guile of Humphrey into the attack who responded with 3-25 backed up in the field with catches from the psycho Wicks,
with what precious light there was left and the time getting to 8.30pm Ramanuja bowled the final over with 18 needed
the spinner kept his nerve leaving a 6 from the final ball to skipper of the day and club chairman Scott Trutwein a
swing and a miss was the outcome as 2 byes were scampered leaving the O's victors by the narrow margin of 4 runs and
the return of the tour shield we have not won since 2002. One of the best games for many a year with strangely not one
fifty recorded when there was some good innings on display, once again many thanks to all at Wellow for the sterling
efforts to make the game playable and their wonderful hospitality, the first leg of the tour treble was on with Godshill
next up tomorrow.
