Match Report Date 04/05/14 Oppo – St. Andrews (h) Type – 40 Overs Report by Miss Ing Players Following on from last weeks triumph at Fortress Barkingside, the O's continued their early season form by crushing a severly weakened St.Andrews team that had been struck down earlier in the week with travelitus. Calling upon the O's to supply additional players to the 8 St.Andrews players that managed to avoid the bug, O's kindly provided 11 year old Jarnais Butler-Revell for his first ever time on a cricket pitch. O's batted first and Ravi, freshly released from Sunday house duties, decided to make the most of his once a year outing on a Sunday by smashing a well built 59. New opening partner Dan Reece(18)also looked set until he got a snorter from Edwards or was it he fell asleep with boredom? Following his departure, Ed Tooth came striding to the crease and smashed 80 following on from his fine knock of 84 last week and then quickly got out for the second week running avoiding any jug buying century. O's went on to make 242-5. After another superb Beryl Junior's tea the O's set about the St.Andrews bowling. Dan "cricketrage" Auton (1-13) continued his early season form bowling tighter than Aussie lifeguards swim trunks. Young Aryan Manchanda also showed excellent bowling skills flighting some good deliveries. Muks, Neil, Jack and Matt all bowled well and chipped in with wickets to plough through the St.Andrews line up and dismissing them for 66. But the star of the field was new keeper Dan Reece showing excellent glove skills with a catch and 4 stumpings. Next week an away trip to Woodham Mortimer.
