A fully fit and sober O's team turned up at Woodford for their penultimate game of the season.
Woodford decided to bat first and the O's fast bowlers started magnificently managing to bowl ball after ball in the same spot.
Unfortuantely that spot was on the pitch we weren't actually using and therefore the extras were rattling up faster than a
ferret whizzes up your trouser leg. Adam Parkes bowling particularly well with all 3 balls that he could see with his hangover.
The skip eventually realised that maybe youth was the best policy, so turned to Rhys Martin and himself!
Both bowled exceptionally well and Woodford eventually declared on 192 for 9, with good batting from both Harper & Khushi.
And the extras 2nd top scorer with 46.
The O's then started their reply in fine fashion with stumps flying to all parts of the ground. At 25-4, Adam and Richard Carter
came together and started a revival. Putting on 70 for the 5th wicket before Richard was out through sheer exhaustion on 22.
Wicks then came in to support Adam but after pulling a hamstring was out for 16. Adam was then dismissed for 38.
It was then down to Richardson and Martin to try and guide the O's home, but the return of the 2 opening bowlers put paid to that.
The O's needed to survive the last over with 2 wickets in hand to get the draw. Richardson who had batted superbly for his 22
had a sudden ruch of blood to the head (which at his age, is the only part of the body that get's a rush of blood!)
and he decided to try to smash a ball square only to get caught at square leg.
This left nerves of steel Revell to come in and face the final 3 balls and secure the draw.
A really excellent game of cricket played in good spirit, with good O's performances from Richardson, Parkes and Carter.
