Match Report Date - 02/08/09 Oppo – South Woodford (h) Type – 40 Overs Report by Liam Mulholland. Skipper Revell lost the toss and the O's were put in on a nasty looking green top. Those fears were justified losing Ramanuja & Jones with only 9 on the board. Mulholland and Joy put the innings back on track with a stand of 74 with Mulholland going for a handy 52, dismissed by the doodle bugs of Jim Little, with Little breaking the stand and bowling a spell of 3-0-5-1 it was a turning point in the game when skipper Hardie turned to the pace of Rahman who Tooth was delighted to face pumping him for 4 fours in his 1st over. There was no stopping Tooth who played with great freedom to crack a very rapid 73 not out with good support from Joy who made a club best of 21 and Parkes who was caught off the last ball of the innings for a useful 26. The O's finishing on 212-5. In reply the openers showed no respect to the neanderthal Wicks and dobber Hillier, racing to 19 in no time but the O's had their catching hands on today with 3 sharp catches from Tousent(2) and Revell, reduced the score to 45-3 with Parkes and the unplayable Ramanuja adding further wickets to leave South Woodford in a sorry mess at 82-5. Skipper Revell had the luxury to coast to victory allowing the east end wideboy to claim a couple of tailenders. Skipper Hardie finishing with a boundary rush to finish unbeaten on 19, the visitors finishing on 155-8 losing by 57 runs. The O's look ahead to their tour to the New Forest with confidence sky high and hopes of winning all 3 tour games.
