Oppo – North London Cavaliers (h)
Type – 40 Overs
Report by Liam Mulholland.

The O`s had yet another Truman show scene as their intended opponents inexplicably failed to show by the intended start time
but incredibly North London Cavaliers had been double booked on the adjacent pitch. The Cav`s were tucking into their pints
when suddenly they had the offer of a game a few feet away against the mighty O`s, too right came the reply as they bolted
down their drinks and quickly changed ready for action. The O`s won the toss and batted with James quickly away with a
thumping drive first ball for 4, could this be the day for a return to form for the legend from Gravesend alas no as in the
5th over he had has poles knocked over by Raju for 14 with the score on 30. Kumar continued his good run of form with more
punishing hooks and pulls reaching 30 before being dismissed by Raju with the score on 57 in the 9th over. L.Mulholland and
Warne then played shots all around the ground adding 169 in 28 overs on a wicket that was deteriorating by the over before
Warne was caught in the deep for a classy 92, the O`s closed on 249-3 with Mulholland unbeaten on a season`s best 89. Pretty
confident of victory skipper Richardson back from yet another new L`Oreal conditioner launch had the luxury to rest the
people`s champion from the bowling attack as we needed the deranged mobster from Bethnal Green fit and firing for the
forthcoming cricket tour. Hiscock and Hillier opened the attack with Hiscock picking up his best return for the club of 4-25
including 2 fine catches by Richardson who never fails to promote his company`s new product quickly whipping off his cap to
show off his shiny thatch of hair before pouching his catch. Hillier again claimed 2 more victims with his specialised right
arm pony rubbish but should have had more but James somehow managed to drop a slip chance that even Pakistan would have
bagged, mixed bag for our man of cricket as he spilled another slip catch before finally nailing his 15,278th career catch.
Richardson wrapped up the tail claiming his first wicket of the season in a tidy spell of 3 for 8 as the Cav`s crumbled to a
sorry 76 all out. Many thanks to the Cav`s for stepping in at the last minute and after the game immediately buying the O`s
a nice jug of beer as the O`s contemplated the tour with a worryingly thin squad of players.
