Match Report Date 01/05/16 Oppo Brentford Fans CC (h) Type 40 Overs Report by Liam Mulholland After the arctic week of weather, conditions improved massively for the visit of the Brentford fans. On a typical tricky QE2 Field wicket, O’s mustered a score of 136 being bowled out in the last over of the innings, an enthusiastic fielding team claimed 2 stunning catches to dismiss the edgemeister and Salman Rana for ducks. a steady knock from Bob Marsh of 56 held the innings together before being given LBW for the 20,897th time in his career, this time by his son Oliver, not sure that is a good move son but time will tell on that one. Marsh had a good partnership of 65 with Zaman who continued his good early form scoring 34. Both would have scored more but were basically batting with bits of fence as their bats were cracked to pieces. After a monster tea from our new tea combo of Dave & Kady the O’s set about defending their total, Revell tearing through the batting, claiming a club best of 5-11 and in the process postponing his replacement hip operation for another 24 years. After the early flurry of wickets there was little chance of the score being reached and young Aryan mopped up the tail with his stunning array of spinning deliveries claiming 3-7 as the Brentford boys were bowled out for 51, 2 out of 2 for the O’s as they look forward to the trip to Woodham Mortimer next week.
